Chickenpox - Red itching Bumps.
It is common these days although not as much as it used to be. Incidence has come down because of an effective vaccine. Vaccine is given in two doses, first being at 12 months of age... Second Shot 3 to 6 month after the first shot.
Disease prevention should always be priority but most people ask for vaccine during intercurrent illness.
Vaccine is not effective during illness.
Anyways treatment is effective if started in the first 24 hours. Chickenpox can be a milder illness for young children but not for Adults...
Chickenpox is highly contagious, can spread as airborne as well as touching of rash.
It is contagious till the last bump scab falls off.
